Release 2024-04 (2024.2)

This update introduces new features and improvements that will enhance your experience on DOQMIND. We are committed to continually improving our testing and release procedures to ensure you get the best possible experience.

For this release we have focused on analytics, notifications and overall usability improvements.

Below are some of the highlights of this release, followed by a comprehensive list of all bug fixes and improvements:

Project Analytics Improvements

Project Analytics is a licensed module that allows you to monitor the performance of your projects. The data was available via dashboards and CSV downloads. The module has been revised. A new default dashboard is available and the data is made available via API.

Replace the standard dashboard

A new project dashboard is available that allows you to quickly see basic performance indicators of the projects.

This dashboard replaces the previous dashboard that was available for some customers. You can find more information on this dashboard on https://help.doqmind.com/dm/projects-dashboard

Analytic data for KPI’s is now available via API

The raw project data was already available as downloadable CSV files (see https://help.doqmind.com/dm/data-extraction for more information). The same data is now available via API using the oData protocol. oData is a data source supported by all major business intelligence tools. It allows you to create your own dashboards tailored to your specific needs and keep them updated automatically.

Deprecation of custom dashboards

Athena Graphics and DOQMIND have created some custom dashboards in the past. As a result of these changes, custom dashboards are no longer supported. Custom dashboards can easily be created using the API. If you are affected by this deprecation, you have already been contacted individually.

Project Notification Improvements

Milestone configuration has been improved to allow finer control of notifications

The milestone configuration now has the same notification tab as the task configuration. This allows you to configure who is notified when a milestone is reached. Notifications can be sent to Project Managers, Actors or even email addresses entered in form fields. The use of custom templates is also supported.

In order to avoid confusion, tasks can no longer be converted to milestones. You will now need to add milestones directly from the ‘add milestone’ menu.

A new notification trigger allows to send reminders after the task deadline

It is now possible to send notifications after the due date. This allows you to configure automatic reminders in the case actors did not meet the deadline.

Email notifications now open the task instead of the task list

The email notifications link pointed to the task list. The user then had to search for the task in the list.

The link in new email notifications will now open the task execution immediately. The default email templates have been updated to make this change immediately effective after the update.

Notification types in task configuration now only show relevant types

Previously it was possible to select notification triggers that were not relevant for a specific notification type. As an example, it was possible to select ‘on rejected’ for tasks of the ‘upload type’. This has been modified and only relevant notification types can be selected from now on.

Useability improvements

It is now possible to configure default columns for new users

In previous releases we enabled the use of project metadata in list view and advanced search. Each user had to configure his or her own column set. It will now be possible to configure a default column set for bot assets and projects. This set will be applied for new users.

Advanced search criteria can now be saved for tasks and assets as well

It was already possible to save advanced search criteria for quick reuse or even to create a default filter. With this release we added the same functionality for both tasks and projects.

The tasks overview now includes task groups and quick filters

The new task list received some minor improvements. The task group can now be shown as a column in the list, and it can be used as a filter in advanced search.

Additionally, some quick filters for overdue tasks and tasks that are due today are added. Finally, it is now possible to select multiple projects in the projects quick-filter.

A new user preference module allows you to tailor your experience

Until now the user preferences were hidden under the administration menu. As we continue to add prefrences this became cluttered. In this release a new user preferences menu is introduced.

This preference menu allows you to

• Select your language. This affects both the user interface and the notification you will receive

• Reset your password

• Out of office tools for Projects and Athena orders (depending on whether you have these modules).

• Default module selection. This allows you to configure the module that will be shown when you log into DOQMIND. Previously a default was shown depending on your user rights, now you can configure yourself which module makes most sense for you.

• Generate API tokens for oData feeds.

The administration menu now only contains system-wide configuration items and no longer contains items that only apply to a single users.

The task statuses have been renamed

Task statuses have been renamed to be more clear.

Other improvements

• In the tasks list it is now possible to have the quick filter active on multiple projects instead of just one.

• New quick filters were added to the tasks list to filter on overdue tasks or tasks due today.

• The standard email templates form baskets now explain clearly that links can only be used once.

• When hovering over an asset name in asset list view, the full path will show. This is mainly usefull for search results and aligns the functionality with grid view.

• The smartname for the project managers email ($$ProjectManagerEmail$$) is now clickable in the emails and in the task desciption.

• There is now a clear indication that you are impersonating a user.

• Quick search on projects now also search on project manager and template, in addition to the project name

• Thumbnails now show automatically after upload. This is both in asset lists and in tasks where relevant.

• The fonts used in mails and mail configuration has been aligned.

• Closing the GANTT chart returns you to the project detail view, rather than closing the project and returning the project list.
