Adding or editing users

Adding a new user

A new user can be created by clicking "Create user".

A new modal will appear where you can configure the user.

In this modal you will need to enter:

  • Type: choose whether this user is an internal or external user. For more information on internal and external users, see User Types. Please note that the available user rights in this modal will differ between internal and external users. See Assets Rights and Projects Rights for more information.

  • Name: the family name of the user.

  • First name: the first name of the user.

  • Email: a valid and unique email address. The email address must be unique across both internal and external users within the environment.

  • Language: the interface language for this user. This controls both the language shown in the user interface and the language of notification emails sent to this user. The available options are limited to the languages that are active in your environment — see Languages for more information.

  • Roles: the roles applicable for this user. See User Roles for more information.

  • Rights: the rights for this specific user. See User Rights for more information.

Invitation mails

An invitation email is sent to the user upon creation. It includes a link to set their password and configure their One Time Password if required.

You can defer sending the invitation email by deactivating the 'Send invitation mail to user' toggle when creating the user. The user status will then be 'pending'. You must manually send the invitation email when ready.

Invitation emails are valid for 48 hours. If a user does not register within this time, or you did not send the email when creating the user, resend the invitation via the context menu or bulk action.

Editing existing users

When editing an existing user, the user tier shows in the bottom of the edit modal.

When a user's tier changes due to rights being added or removed, the change appears at the bottom of the modal.

If you have admin-level access, you will also see a Super user checkbox when editing a user. See Super users for more information.
