Release 2024-09 (2024.4)

For the September release of DOQMIND we focused on the user experience of the Project Management module. Besides a revamped user interface, a number of other features and improvements are included in this release. Bellow are the highlights.

Project Management

New cards in project grid view

In DOQMIND’s project management grid view, project cards previously displayed essential project information. However, with this release, the cards have undergone a review.

The updated cards no longer consider task groups. The previous focus on task groups sometimes led to inefficient screen space usage and peculiar progress representations. The new cards prioritize consistent and comprehensive project information, regardless of project configuration. For further details on card content, refer to help.doqmind.com.

No changes have been made to the project list view.

New projects detailed view

DOQMIND has always provided multiple ways to drill down in project details and interact with the projects. The different interface were not always grouped and organized correctly. With this release the project detail view has been completely re-worked.

The new project detail view allows you to quickly navigate between all different project elements.

The new project detail view

The top bar of the project details (1) displays essential project information and remains constantly visible. The arrow on the left allows you to return to the project overview, while the context menu with project actions is situated on the right.

Furthermore, the sidebar (2) provides swift navigation through the various project details. This sidebar can be collapsed to expand the available space for the module itself.

Four different modules are available, a task module, the asset module, a Gantt module and an all new metadata module.

Tasks module

The task module enables tracking of all tasks within a project. At the top, there's a summary displaying the count of completed, active, and pending tasks.

If the project incorporates task groups, these are displayed on the left side. Clicking on a task group allows you to access the specific tasks needed.

The new tasks module

The task module provides an audit of completed tasks and the option to reassign tasks that are yet to begin. Quick filters are available for convenience, and the view can be customized to display only the columns pertinent to you.

Assets module

The assets module provides a comprehensive view of all project-related assets. It offers both list and thumbnail views, encompassing many of the same features as the DOQMIND assets module, such as the ability to customize columns.

The Gantt module

The Gantt module gives you the familiar Gantt chart, only within the context of the project.

The Metadata module

The metadata module gives you an overview of all project metadata.

The metadata module

The Project Metadata section encompasses all metadata for a project. Should a project include multiple forms, each will be displayed in the sidebar. Within this interface, users can edit and download the metadata. This new metadata module supersedes the previous '.frm' files, which have been phased out. Form files no longer exist in the folder structure, but are only available from the project detail interface or in the task executions.

More details about the revised interface can be found on help.doqmind.com.

Execute next task

In projects, it's typical for the same actor to be assigned several consecutive tasks. Previously, the actor had to select and execute a task, then navigate back to the task list and open the next one. Now, with the new feature, completing a task will automatically open the next available task in the project.

Cancel projects

Projects that are not completed can now be canceled. Upon cancellation, all active tasks will be terminated, and no new tasks will commence. However, the project and its history will be retained.

Restarting canceled projects is not possible.

Set project deadlines

Previously, DOQMIND calculated project due dates solely based on the start date and the template. We have now introduced the option to manually set the deadline within the project.

Other changes

  • It is now possible to open the viewer directly from the edit file properties task execution

  • Some cosmetic improvements have been made to the fill form task execution

  • As a user with Project Administration rights it’s now possible to bulk-delete projects

Assets

Improved file details modal

In the previous release, we reworked several tabs within the file details modal. This release further enhances the file details tab, offering an improved view of asset properties. Additionally, we introduced a versions tab, providing an overview of all previous versions and the ability to compare them.

Deprecation of show extensions company setting

Previously, a setting was available that enabled the display of asset names with and without an extension at the company level. This setting has been deprecated. Now, in grid view, extensions are always visible. In list view, users have the option to choose whether to see the extensions.

Generic improvements

Direct link to asset for DAM+

A new feature is now available that enables the inclusion of a direct link to the asset within DAM+ approval emails. This function operates by accessing the appropriate folder and initiating a search, simplifying the process of locating rejected assets, for instance.

Support for languages

DOQMIND is enhancing its language support, which involves refining existing translations and gearing up to include more languages. As part of this expansion, we will discontinue the translation of DAM property values and forms, as these translations have seldom been utilized in practice.

Improvements on error messages

Despite our best efforts to minimize error messages, they can still occur. We have enhanced these messages by offering more explicit information about what happened and providing instructions on how to proceed.
